I also strategize new ideas and campaigns with my team to deliver on-going revenue growth. Through my combined market/product knowledge and my ability to shape strategy, I led the global launch of Trimbow, the first-in-market fixed triple combination treatment for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) which continues to retain sales and volume leadership across most markets. I also manage the life cycle of Foster, a drug for treatment of Asthma and COPD, launching the product as the third entrant and taking it to its current position as market leader, generating €740Mn globally to date, with a 13%+ growth with a mostly flat market.

I have also oversaw the market introduction of other products, including Holoclar, the first ever Advanced Therapeutic Medicinal Products in EU for the treatment of a rare diseased condition called Limbal Stem Cell Deficiency. I have driven further revenue development by successfully integrating Procysbi and Quinsair, 2 rare disease brands into the existing portfolio delivering a double digit growth. I also contributed to enhance the life cycle of Curosurf (treats Neonatal Respiratory Distress Syndrome) by identifying new growth opportunities which is now delivering €200Mn+ in global revenues with a worldwide market share of 75% and still growing 25 years since its launch.

Later, he built the external relationships in the field of Hepatitis C, before becoming the Global Therapeutic Area Communications Leader Infectious Diseases and Vaccines. In this function he developed world wide strategic communications and public affairs programs about infectious diseases and global public health.

Daniel has a Master in Romance Philology (Literature) and he started his career as a teacher.

 

After having worked in communications roles in the car industry for several years, he joined the non-profit sector and became country manager for Médecins Sans Frontières in Bosnia, Croatia and Angola. Back in Europe, he headed the Communications department for the organization. Before joining Johnson & Johnson, he worked at Burson-Marsteller as a consultant on corporate communications.

His personal interests are contemporary art and architecture, politics and meeting people.

Philippe Kirby is currently the Global Lead for Digital Capabilities & Analytics at MSD International GmBH and is responsible for MSD's global Marketing Automation program and related Analytics initiatives as key enablers of Digital Transformation. Philippe has been working for MSD for 22 years, essentially in a variety of technology driven roles, with the last 10 years focused on omni-channel commercial capabilities. During that 10 years, Philippe was first involved in the evolution of the EUCAN region's Customer Engagement strategy. As part of that evolution he has led the deployment of CRM/CLM capabilities in 20+ European markets and been actively involved in the deployment and revamping of MSD's customer portals (e.g. Univadis) and other related digital capabilities. Then, in the last few years, Philippe has moved into a global role focused on the development and integration of advanced digital customer engagement capabilities, such as Marketing Automation, and the implementation of these capabilities globally. Prior to that Philippe was an international project manager in FMCG businesses such as Seagrams and Duracell. Mark Dant is the current Chairman of the Board of the Washington DC based EveryLife Foundation for Rare Diseases, a science-based advocacy organization dedicated to accelerating biotech innovations for rare disease treatments through science-driven public policy. Mark is also the founder and Volunteer Executive Director of the Ryan Foundation and former President and CEO of the National MPS Society.

In 1992, while working as a police officer in the Dallas area, Mark and his wife Jeanne founded The Ryan Foundation with a bake sale after their only child, three-year old Ryan was diagnosed with MPS I.  At that time, life expectancy for children with MPS I was less than 15 years. Mark began an immediate global search for scientists and philanthropists who might aid in finding a treatment in time to help children and families living with MPS realize the promise of tomorrow.  A conversation with a research scientist at a symposium in Dusseldorf Germany eventually led Mark to Dr. Emil Kakkis, a young researcher at UCLA who was working on enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) to help treat MPS I, but had little funding. The Ryan Foundation partnered with Dr. Kakkis and provided key funding for his project, which culminated in the development of Aldurazyme, the first and only drug currently approved to treat MPS I.  Aldurazyme is now approved to treat children and adults in over 70 countries worldwide.  Ryan, now 31 and a graduate of the University of Louisville, is the longest MPS I ERT treated person in the world. Since the bake sale, the Ryan Foundation has funded millions of dollars in rare disease research. 

For the past 25+ years, Mark and the Ryan Foundation have partnered with numerous research scientists and universities to help innovative projects move toward treatment in lysosomal storage disease. Mark and his family have been key advocates speaking to the FDA and in 2009 successfully championed the US House of Representatives to pass the Ryan Dant Health Care Opportunity Act, a bill designed to help those living on Medicaid assistance become gainfully employed.  The Dant’s journey has been documented on CBS 60 Minutes, CNN, Biography Magazine, Readers Digest in 13 languages around the world, Golf Digest, the LA Times and numerous newspapers and news outlets across the US.

Mark retired from police work in 2016 as Assistant Chief of Police with the Carrollton Texas Police Department after serving 32 years as a Patrol Officer, Detective, and Commander leading multiple divisions and Bureaus to include Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Intel, and SWAT. Mark spends his time now volunteering for the EveryLife Foundation, the Ryan Foundation, and numerous other rare disease organizations to help empower the patient advocate through the understanding that all of us have the power to turn action to hope and hope to reality.
